This policy explains how Validly handles personal document data. The core principle is simple: documents are private, and the app is designed to keep them local on the user's device.
1. Overview
Validly is a local-first document vault and renewal reminder app. It helps users scan, import, organize, preview, and track personal documents such as passports, visas, licenses, insurance papers, vehicle registrations, certificates, and warranties.
2. Information stored in the app
Validly may store imported files, captured document images, generated PDFs, OCR text, document titles, categories, notes, expiry dates, no-expiry selections, renewal status, reminder preferences, and subscription access status. This information is stored locally on the user's device unless the user or operating system chooses to back it up through device backup settings.
3. No document upload to Evyx AI servers
Validly does not require an account to store documents and does not upload user documents, scanned images, PDFs, OCR text, notes, or expiry dates to Evyx AI servers in the current app design.
4. On-device scanning and OCR
Validly uses Apple and Android platform technologies to scan documents, recognize text, preview files, protect access, and schedule reminders. OCR can be imperfect, especially with low-quality images, unusual formats, multiple languages, damaged documents, or non-standard layouts, so users should always review extracted details before saving.
5. Notifications
Validly uses local notifications to remind users about expiry or renewal dates. Notifications are scheduled on the device based on the details saved by the user. Users can manage notification permissions in system settings.
6. Payments and subscriptions
Validly Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Billing. Evyx AI does not receive or store payment card numbers. The app may receive subscription status information from the store so it can unlock paid features.
7. Security
Validly relies on operating system protections such as app sandboxing, device encryption, and optional device authentication. Users are responsible for protecting their device passcode, biometric access, backups, and shared device access.
8. Deleting data
Users can delete saved documents inside Validly. Users can also remove app data by deleting the app or clearing app storage through the operating system. Store purchase history is managed by Apple or Google and may remain in the user's store account.
9. Children
Validly is not intended for children. Users should only store documents they are legally allowed to manage.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date or publishing a new version of this policy.
11. Contact
For privacy questions, contact Evyx AI at support@evyxai.com.
This policy is app-specific for Validly. If Evyx AI later adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or server-side document processing, this policy should be updated before those features are released.
